I grew up in Florida in a family with six kids. My mother is a nurse and my father a clerk at the Post Office. Our family had the opportunity to own a business, and as the eldest son, I took the responsibility for helping run the business.
With little training and no prior knowledge, our family ventured into owning a golf shop (no one in my family played golf). So, at 15, while the other kids at school played football, cheerleading, and band, I began learning sales, invoicing, and inventory.
College & Code
After high school, I attended Florida State University for Multinational Business with a focus on Japanese language and culture.
My first startup, Collideascript:
With a few job opportunities coming out of college, I chose to instead go the route of founding a company. With a business degree that didn’t quite cover all the logistics, I had no idea what I was in for.
This was when I began teaching myself how to code in php and so that we could build our first beta release of Collideascript.
